"Joining Planète IRD+ means gaining access to an ecosystem of international knowledge and collaboration opportunities"
Ezequiel Zamora-Ledezma

Lecturer and researcher, Vice Dean for Research and Posgrado, Faculty of Agroecology, Manabi Technical University, Ecuador

Partner of IRD for numerous research projects (Ex D-Critical), training and network development projects such as FAGROCLIM.

What is your relationship with IRD?

My relationship with IRD began as a researcher specializing in agroecosystems and climate change, with a particular focus on agrobiodiversity and sustainable food production. This collaboration has been fundamental to my scientific and academic development, enabling me to work directly with IRD researchers, plan scientific mobility trips between IRD and UTM, and take part in joint projects on agrobiodiversity and value chains. What's more,my collaboration with IRD has transformed my local research into a project with a regional impact.

Why did you decide to join Planète IRD+?

It represents a strategic opportunity to contribute to sustainable scientific development, connecting territories and knowledge between the global South and Europe, with concrete impacts on agricultural ecosystems and rural communities in Ecuador. With Planète IRD+, IRD brings together researchers from the Global South, creating shared solutions to common challenges.

To participate in Planète IRD+ is to represent the values of equitable and sustainable scientific cooperation.
