From its official launch to hands-on workshops and the selection of a winning team, the Déclic program made a stopover at the Polytechnic University of San Pedro, marking two days of exchanges and learning around innovation, research and entrepreneurship.
The program kicked off with an official ceremony at the Polytechnic University of San Pedro, host of this year's event. The opening session was marked by a rich panel on the theme of "Science and entrepreneurship", bringing together experts from a variety of backgrounds:
- Pr Ouattara Karamoko, Vice-President of the Polytechnic University of San Pedro
- Jean-Baptiste Andrédou Kattié, Head of the Employability Center, AUF Côte d'Ivoire
- Kouadio Kouakou Luc, Business Development Officer, PME Côte d'Ivoire
- Clément Aubert, Director of Valorization and Innovation, IRD
- Gloria Julie Tiendrebeogo, Project Manager, Burkina Faso
Moderated by Brice Gnahoré, representative of Bond'innov, this round table deciphered the stages involved in transforming an idea into a structuring project, through innovation, incubation and valorization in the local socio-economic fabric.
Practical, action-oriented training
Some thirty students and four researchers took part in interactive modules focusing on :
- promoting research results and innovation,
- popularizing science,
- entrepreneurship and the pitching of innovative projects.
Divided into multidisciplinary teams, the participants worked together on four research projects:
- a rice seeder optimized for local conditions,
- a weed identification application,
- an improved traditional medicine based on local plants,
- and a community-based rural tourism circuit.
Local impact project wins award
Among the initiatives presented, the 3rd project, "Tourism and entrepreneurial community involvement in the riverside villages of the Grand-Bereby marine protected area", led by Bissou Daniel, stood out. This project, which combines ecotourism, community inclusion and environmental preservation, won a prize and personalized support from the AUF Employability Center.
Déclic Côte d'Ivoire has illustrated the potential of the link between research, innovation and regional development. The next step will be to support the concrete implementation of this project.
