Abdallah Mahamat Nour receives the Prize for Excellence in Scientific Research in Chad as part of the Alumni Days organized by Campus France Tchad and the Alumni France Tchad association.
Dr. Abdallah Mahamat Nour is a fellow of the ARISE PP program and a teacher-researcher in the Geology Department of the Faculty of Exact and Applied Sciences at the University of N'Djamena. He obtained his PhD in Geosciences at the University of Aix Marseille, at the CEREGE in 2019, then completed a postdoc at the Pascal Paoli University in Corsica in 2021. His work focuses on understanding the functioning of Sahelian and transboundary surface waters and aquifers in the Lake Chad Basin (LCB), where he has developed stable isotopes (3H, δ2H and δ18O) and geochemical tools.
A partner of IRD in Chad, he is part of the IRD alumni community as a former sponsor of the Georesources: Waters and Minerals FSP from 2020 to 2023, which aimed to support master's and doctoral training in the Geology Department of the University of N'Djamena.
