MARTÍN CAVERO CASTILLO, DOCTOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY, ÉCOLE DES HAUTES ÉTUDES EN SCIENCES SOCIALES (EHESS)
His thesis, defended in 2024, examines the political and social logics that have produced divergent assessments by villagers of the Conga open-pit project in Peru. In 2023, he coordinated the "Terrains Miniers/Minés" dossier for Politika magazine, on the ethical and methodological issues of ethnographies in mining fields.
JUDITH AUDIN, RESEARCH FELLOW IN POLITICAL SCIENCE AT CNRS (UMR PRODIG).
Her research has focused on the socio-political consequences of urbanization in China's metropolises and medium-sized cities. Since 2015, she has been analyzing the extractive dynamics running through the city of Datong, also known as "China's coal capital", and at the same time developing an ethnography of abandoned ruins.
